Come lay upon dawn’s cool grass
as the day is newly forming
Open your soul and breathe in
the moist elixir of morning
Bask in the circle of light
that rejuvenates and warms
Let the rains of sorrow
go with passing storms
Let eruptions and deluges
wash away the past
with things of time gone by
that were not meant to last
And as this golden hour survives
life’s ebbs and flows,
Let your heart unfold
like a many-petaled rose

My heart will turn this fragile time
into my greatest strength
My heart will let the love of friends
go to every length
My heart will put humility
in the place of pride
My heart will hold a well of faith
to quell the fear inside
And whatever of me might fall away
My heart will take its place
When all seems lost, my heart will find
the sweetest saving grace
And I will have tomorrow
for today I’ll practice the art
of surrendering every hurting moment
unto my healing heart.

Blessed are the hands that find
those places rarely touched --
memories cleverly hiding
for so long from so much
Kind are hands that hear the stories
words can no longer explain,
daring to soothe the hours and years
of weariness or pain
Full of grace those gentle hands
that truly and deeply feel us
For we do not know how much we hurt
until a touch begins to heal us

As I face the abyss
I will rise up
As I seem to fall
I will fly
And though flesh and bone
and mortal clay
may seem to weigh me down
For love of life
and the one called “I,”
my heart will seek
and find
a healing sky.

This is my prayer
and my asking…
Let me be healed
Let me be whole
in mind, body, heart
and soul
And let me be comforted
in knowing
that I am heard
that I am known
that I am felt
and that I will be
gathered in
and watched over
till I am strong again.

This is my prayer
and my deepest wish for you…
May you be healed
May you be whole
in mind, body, heart
and soul
And may you be comforted
in knowing that
you are heard,
you are known
and you are felt
And may you be gathered in
and watched over
on earth, as above,
till you are strong again.

Life has its seasons
as time will always show
like summer into winter
and tide’s ebb and flow…
Storms of life will rain
Winds of change will blow
But no power or passage of life can take
what love can reap and sow
For love once taken precious root
and given the heart to grow
will surely go on forever --
as only a deepened heart may know.

Once you had the moon on a string
and stars in your eyes
Once the world was at your feet
as you sailed love’s skies
But every dawn brings a new day
and dreams grow and change
And sometimes our best laid plans
the winds of time rearrange
Disappointment may lay blame
and harbor many hurts
Anger may try to measure
what broken promises are worth
But there are blessings in disguise
only a healed heart can know
And holding on to happiness
sometimes means letting go

We look around this world
see trouble and pain
heartbreak and misery
that hope can't explain
But love looks at things
in a whole different way
Love sees the light
when there's no sight of day
For in love's eyes
things are more than they seem,
And every rock in the road
is just a stepping stone to a dream
In love's eyes
things are not black or white
And there's always a dawn
no matter how long the night ---
You may be hanging by a thread
at the end of your rope
The sky may be falling
but just keep holding on to hope
‘Cause it may seem you're lost
and in a dark desperate place
But love sees a soul
ready to find some faith
For in love's eyes
there's always a reason why --
and when the ground slips away
that's your chance to finally fly
In love's eyes
every trouble is a gift
and there's no burden so heavy
that love cannot lift
So give your heart to each moment
And look to the light
For in love's eyes
everything will be all right --

Never think that you're without it
For love never leaves, never ends --
it only changes its form, its face.
its place and purpose
from time to time --
Look beyond
the lie that pain tells and see the gift --
Sometimes your arms are emptied
so that your heart might be filled
from within
Sometimes your heart is hollowed out
so that it can be reshaped
to hold a different love
Sometimes your feet walk a solitary path
so that your soul might cross the distance
from aloneness to all-oneness
Look within --
at your innate goodness,
your desire to do the right thing,
and the ideas, values, passions,
strengths and willingness
that give your life vitality --
Look around --
at your friends, your true family, those who
warm you, feed you, comfort and challenge you
See the children and the innocent creatures
who look to you, need you
and believe in you
Let the ongoingness of nature
remind you of your own natural potential
to re-seed, put down new roots, bend
and withstand, flourish and bear fruit --
And do not mind the pieces of yourself
falling and flying away
in their season.
Old forms leave to make room for the new
The parts of you that seem to depart
will touch and reinvigorate others in ways
only the Soul of the World can know.
All the comings and goings in your life are love!
Look beyond. Look within. Look around.
Look into the eternal heart of every moment --
Love is everywhere.
Never think you are without it!

More
Than a Memory
(Version 1)
Someday when time reveals
what only love can explain
and memory's precious tears
become a healing rain…
May your heart come to know
that, truly, nothing dies
when it can live on as the light
of a smile in loving eyes

More
Than a Memory
(Version 2)
You were here just a moment ago,
But that moment has flown away
And gone is all we planned to do
all we could still share and say
But we know with all our hearts
that your soul song still goes on
So we pray you find the sweetest night
and the longest, brightest dawn
And may you go as a feather goes
when the wind blows every which way
where cool, rushing water flows
when the river rushes away
May you rise up like the morning dew
so soon after it falls
and fly on the wings of tomorrow
as a new day gloriously calls
And may you be as an echo of fullness
though emptiness has filled it,
the breathless overtone of a melody
after silence has stilled it
And someday when time reveals
what only love can explain
and memory's precious tears
become a healing rain --
May we know what you must now
that truly, nothing dies
when it can live on as the light
of a smile in loving eyes --
And if we can be together
in the forever of our hearts,
however far away you seem
we'll never really be apart
Love Always ….

why life puts love and pain together
and why some things in life fall
so far short of forever
It may take a sky-full of faith

how to unfold to the light again

Sometimes a smile comes out of nowhere
and gives our day a lift
Sometimes a word, a touch, a heart
brings a timely gift
At every single moment
we are given what we need
Some things come to root and flower
Some come only to seed
We may spend some time and tears
missing what could not last
But today there is a smile somewhere
coming to help heal the past….

Wherever there is life
and love and time
and the passing of so many years
There will surely be moments of
greatness and glory
and moments of troubles and tears
We can set our minds
we can make our plans
We can take some things into our hands
But it is up to the heart
to weather the storms
and brave the winds of change and chance
It is up to the heart
to find our truths
and keep the dreams that drive our dance
And in those times
when all we can do
never seems quite enough
It is up to the heart
to allow the grace
that brings the strength of love

Sometimes change
flutters in
full of light
and sky and wind
Promising the sun
and moon
and long-awaited
dreams come true
But in those times
when change seems hard
and asks of you
a braver heart
Know that what change
comes to do
is to free
some precious part
of you.
