Find balance not by standing still,
but by moving with integrity and regard
for yourself and others.

Don’t be afraid to make an occasional
leap of faith -- and if you have short legs,
borrow some wings!

While you’re busy getting wherever
you’re going, turn around every so often
to give whoever’s behind you a hand.

The butterfly flying by
has no words
But if you listen to the whisper
of her wings
as she flutters and floats
upon the light of day
You will hear all you need to know
about the casting off of old forms
and the lightness of beauty
being freed.

Every new beginning
is strengthened by an ending
Every circle broken
finds the grace for mending
And as a fresh horizon
dares to dawn anew
Every wing and prayer
brings some sky to you
For in the seeming distance
that’s really not so far
a dream is out there
waiting for
the new person you are...

It’s all about what you do with it
There are no rules
No one way to do it --
Some people start slow
Some barrel out like a freight train
Some go in circles awhile
Some make like an arrow
Some take small steps
Some jump leaps and bounds
Some dance around it
Some sort of skip along
Some take the low road
Some take to the sky
Some land on their feet
Some trip over ‘em
Some stand on their head
Some get ahead
Some do it with their whole heart
Some with half a brain
Some tie themselves in knots
Some go with the flow
Some make it to the finish line
Some say there’s no finish line --
only the start of another race…

Everybody’s got one…
When you get yours,
that’s when life gets really EXCITING!!
Sure, a lot of folks might try to tell you how to do it
But nobody’s gonna do the right thing with it
better than you will
‘Cause it belongs to you and you belong to it
And wherever you are,
there’ll you be -- stretching
and reaching and roping some moon
all for the sake of it!
And whatever happens, remember this --
there’s nowhere like
NOW - HERE
for taking a next step toward it.
SO TAKE THE NEXT STEP
‘cause one thing’s for sure:
life wouldn’t be much fun
without it -- you know --

Like a feather that goes lightly
into the unknown
trusting the winds of time
to carry it home
May you too have moments
in your glorious flight
when you abandon control
over day and night
And as you float on the currents
of love and grace
letting fears give way
to a buoyant faith
Trust that you will happen
on a course that is true
and land in the place
that is waiting for you.

May you dream with all your heart
and may you have the heart to see
that the best thing you can ever do
is to be who & where you want to be
So if you’re ever at a crossroads
or facing a hard-headed wall
or you seem to be going in circles
and going nowhere at all
Just stop yourself and remember
what deep down inside you know…

like the morning sun inside you
And through the darkest night

And whatever roads
you journey down
Whether you fly or dance
or hug the ground --
May your every tomorrow
bring a brave and brand new start
And may the star you follow
be the one inside your heart!

May your heart head for sky
with wings of soul-full flight
May your dreams paint the dawn
with all the colors of your light
And as you seek and discover
all the world’s precious wonders
May you always know the power
of your own true colors

The Art of Perspective

When you have an idea, a vision of something --
and nobody around you sees the big picture
and they tell you it's too grand or too different,
too hard or too CRAZY, too risky, too stupid,
too obscure or too obvious, and in fact
somebody else ALREADY did it
or nobody EVER did
because nobody
in their right mind would
and besides it'll take TOO MUCH
money, time and w o r k and you'll get
nothing out of it but all the pain and NONE
of the glory and WHO do you think you ARE anyway?

Well…..then…

Take your canvas and colors and go paint
where the light is better!!

what to be
in this Life,
look into the topmost sky
of your heart --
There you will find
a star worth reaching for….
There you will find a map for
the path of your feet …
There,
in your dreaming
heart of hearts,
wait the folded wings
of an Angel who fell to Earth
to bring forth Heaven.

but the ripening wisdom of living

a toll taken
but a well of receiving and giving

A Gift of Time

After all these miles
and all these years
All the talk, no-talk
laughter and tears
There are things we’d both
do over again
if what we know now
we only knew then
And though time may seem
to rob us of things
There’s a gift only time
and forgiveness brings
And that is to know
when all is said and done
What matters is the heart
and our willingness to love
